MALTON WOMEN COUNCIL (MWC)

MWC bid a heartfelt good bye to the year 2016, amongst the memories of its journey since 2008; amongst reflections of it’s ups and downs; successes and challenges and amidst stories of bonding, love, warmth and true connections. The MWC families got together on the evening of December 30, 2016 to celebrate the triumphs and stories of 2016 and to DREAM TOGETHER FOR THE YEAR 2017. MWC has always believed in the philosophy of A CIRCLE………a circle of immense love, respect and strength which every dot on that circle adds to THE CIRCLE and receives from THE CIRCLE; yet THE CIRCLE retains its preciousness and strength at the CORE while radiating unconditional light to every dot on the CIRCLE. The MWC CIRCLE wishes all of you a new year filled with unconditional love; company of true friends; great health and peace within!

On the eve of Friday, October 9th/ 15, MWC's families and friends came out in bright colors and high spirit to celebrate festivals together. Everyone enjoyed tremendously. Program began with  prayers.  Uzma Ahmad's son Raham recited verses of Surah-al- Baqra. Uzma Ahmad translated the verses in English.   Pushpreet Dhillon recited Shabad (Sikh's prayer). Top most  highlights from the celebrations are; *   MWC raised $150 through donations and raffles for the 'Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Ontario'.   This is what truly serves the purpose of Eid and Diwali- to donate with open heart. Thank you all for your generous donations to make a difference in someone's life.  *Mrs. Aaloka ji's presence was a big surprise to us, because she is not been doing well for a long time. But MWC always resides in her heart so besides, she gave another mind blowing surprise. Aaloka ji rewarded some of the active  members of MWC with a beautiful troph...

MWC takes immense pride to share with you all that  Daniya Dhillon (a very bright and dynamic youth of  MWC) has won Silver Medal in Taekwondo Open World  Championship in Italy, on June 25th 2015. The entire nation and MWC is proud of her...it was  indeed years of hard work, dedication and commitment  of Daaniya and the Dhillon Family! Add caption

MWC IN ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Report by Jaishree Gupta; Media Coverage: Uzma Irfan) MWC was in full action with great passion and dedication at the Malton Community Festival on Saturday, June 20th, 2015. It is an absolute pleasure to be the part of this multicultural festival every year to showcase our rich culture through folk dances and giving a stage to children to explore the world of arts and craft. Jasmeet Sangha and Baljinder Braich lead Giddha group gave a mind blowing performance. All the ladies practiced on 3 week ends for 2 hours on each day. Great job ladies!  Here are the names of Giddha dancers; Jaswinder khokar, J askirat sangha,  Akshita Sangha,  Sahij Gill,  Karamjit kaur Bhangu, Balraj Muker, Nitika Chahar, Nirmal Kaur, Baljeet Nijjar, Renuka Sharma, Amritpal Dhillon, Gurmeet Kaur Komal.   Thanks to all the members who came out to support MWC.
