Celebrating MWC's 10-Year Journey!

Image
What a privilege to celebrate the 10 th anniversary of MWC in this month of October, which is also marked as ‘Women’s History Month in Canada’. And this year’s theme is #MakeAnImpact. The history of Malton Women Council is in real sense ‘an impact’, which started with one woman back in 2008. A teacher, an artist, a mentor, a community builder and a leader who was determined to create many more leaders who would then continue the journey of women empowerment and self-actualization, starting from Dunrankin Drive Public School Readiness Centre (in Malton) to their families, their communities and into this global village called ‘world’. The story of Malton Women Council remains untold without the story of Aaloka Mehendiratta (a.k.a. Mrs. Aaloka amongst the MWC community), the woman who provided soil and nourishment for the MWC seed to germinate and direction for it to grow, expand and explore!! We are ever so indebted to Mrs. Aaloka for her unconditional love, respect, support and lea...

MWC's 7th Annual International Women's Day-March 10, 2018

Dear friends, MWC invites you to its 7th Annual International Women’s Day celebrations on Saturday, March 10th, at Royal Banquet Hall, Mississauga. Our theme this year is: ‘Being Me…..Celebrating Myself'. Amongst the many different identities bestowed on a woman by the family and the society; there exists an individual who might be hidden from the world and even ‘lost or forgotten’ in some cases……who in fact, is the real YOU! This year, we are making an effort to reach out to women’s hearts to know what defines them beyond the worldly titles.

Highlights from MWC's IWD Event of March 18, 2017

Boldness for Change was the theme for our celebrations on March 18th and Malton Women Council has believed in and lived this concept ever since its humble beginnings in 2008 till date; whether it was the boldness of a Readiness Centre teacher Mrs. Aaloka to think that the children coming to her Readiness Centre would be best nurtured only when women in the families and communities are treated with equality, love and respect; whether it was the boldness of a new immigrant woma n to do something meaningful while she raised her 18 months old son; whether it was the courage of a bunch of women who started believing and living the truth that being a home maker is the most valuable job on this earth…..the journey of MWC is full of stories of courage, boldness, determination and passion: the courage of a woman to dream to be on the cover page of the ‘Time Magazine’; the determination of a mother of 3 to be an entrepreneur; the willingness of a woman to be a leader both within her family and...

MWC bid a heartfelt good bye to the year 2016, amongst the memories of its journey since 2008; amongst reflections of it’s ups and downs; successes and challenges and amidst stories of bonding, love, warmth and true connections. The MWC families got together on the evening of December 30, 2016 to celebrate the triumphs and stories of 2016 and to DREAM TOGETHER FOR THE YEAR 2017. MWC has always believed in the philosophy of A CIRCLE………a circle of immense love, respect and strength which every dot on that circle adds to THE CIRCLE and receives from THE CIRCLE; yet THE CIRCLE retains its preciousness and strength at the CORE while radiating unconditional light to every dot on the CIRCLE. The MWC CIRCLE wishes all of you a new year filled with unconditional love; company of true friends; great health and peace within!
