Our MWC Woman of the Week is AMRITA KUMAR-RATTA. Amrita is a critical social researcher, equity & inclusion strategist and founder of Shades of Brown Girl, a global movement of brown womxn storytellers. She is passionate about creating socially inclusive societies & has played an integral role in supporting a vast number of women’s organisations over the years. At present, she is pursuing her PhD at the University of Toronto in the Department of Geography and Planning with Collaborative Specializations in Global Health and South Asian Studies. She is passionate about performing arts and as such, constantly strives to use arts-based learning tools, strategies, and methodologies in her work. You can usually find Amrita reading by the fireplace with a warm cup of chai, dancing to upbeat African tunes, or writing in her notebook with her sweet cat Rajah sitting by her side. We are blessed to have Amrita as part of the MWC Community!

MWC-The Journey Beyond 10 Years!!!!

Image
Dear friends and supporters of MWC, with our vision of 'empowered women, empowered communities'; we are now embarking on a new journey..........beyond 10 years! And in this second chapter of our journey, we will be developing our Strategic Plan 2020-2023. MWC would like to thank Women and Gender Equality Canada for funding us to strengthen our board and to develop our Strategic Plan for 2020-2023. As we chart our strategic directions for next 3 years, we would like to know from you about the kind of programs and services you would like MWC to focus on in the next 3 years. To find out how you can provide your feedback, please e-mail us at maltonwomencouncil@gmail.com or call us at 647-283-2121. We look forward to your continued participation and support in our journey of empowering women, families and communities!!!
