MWC's Eid-Diwali-Thankgiving Celebrations on October 9th (Report by Jaishree Gupta)

On the eve of Friday, October 9th/ 15, MWC's families and friends came out in bright colors and high spirit to celebrate festivals together. Everyone enjoyed tremendously. Program began with  prayers. Uzma Ahmad's son Raham recited verses of Surah-al- Baqra. Uzma Ahmad translated the verses in English. Pushpreet Dhillon recited Shabad (Sikh's prayer).

Top most  highlights from the celebrations are;

* MWC raised $150 through donations and raffles for the 'Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Ontario'. This is what truly serves the purpose of Eid and Diwali- to donate with open heart. Thank you all for your generous donations to make a difference in someone's life.

*Mrs. Aaloka ji's presence was a big surprise to us, because she is not been doing well for a long time. But MWC always resides in her heart so besides, she gave another mind blowing surprise. Aaloka ji rewarded some of the active  members of MWC with a beautiful trophy to each for displaying leadership qualities. These women have been serving MWC with full responsibility and commitment and have taken leadership role to fulfill  MWC's Vision and Mission.

Here are the names of the recipients:
Uzma Irfan, Anu Randhawa, Ishrat Bano, Hafsa Taqdees, Surjeet Sandhu, Baljinder Braich, Jasmeet Sangha, Sumaira Naseem, Charanjit Kaur Virk and myself. For us this award is no lesser than getting the  Miss Universe Crown. I thank you Aaloka ji from my soul for honoring and recognizing all these wonderful women!! We love you so very much mother!!

Moving on to Dhamaal and Masti (fun) part Emoji, without which any party is incomplete.

* Little brother- sister duo Ashmita and Yuvraj (Neetika's kids) gave a cute dance performance on Blue hai pani pani.
* Little Waleed Adnan ( Hafsa's son) sang a very melodious song.
* Beautiful Sheeza ( Anila's daughter) and Neesa ( Mehwish's daughter) recited a poem.
* Hafsa sang a poetry on Eid.
* Amrit (Surjeet's daughter) talked about why Sikhs celebrate Diwali.
*Neetika's dance on 'Chitiyaan Kalaiyaan ve'( bollywood song) took everyone's heart away.
